Cycore Computers is a privately-held graphics software company based in Uppsala, Sweden. Cycore was founded in 1996 by a group of creative engineers, led by Jerry Pettersson.
Cycore currently employs 70 people worldwide (as of October 1999) and specializes in the development of 3D-technologies for the Internet, as well as special-effects software for the film, video and broadcast industries worldwide.
Cycore has won several awards for its products and was a finalist in the "Best Internet Software" category for PC Week's Best of Comdex awards at Fall Comdex '98. Cycore's Cult3D® animation technology is the industry's first real-time, multi-platform 3D-rendering engine for the Internet.
Among its many applications, the Cult3D® tool enables companies to improve their E-commerce opportunities significantly by providing very realistic and interactive 3D-presentations of products. Cult3D® enables viewers to "touch, feel, and test" products, and it engages on-line-shoppers through real-time interactive content, significantly enhancing their buying experiences and giving them the support they need to make buying decisions. Several successful companies such as Nokia and CNN use Cult3D® objects on their web sites.
Cycore Computers also
has a legacy in the field of special effects software. In the mid-90s, Cycore
created the award-winning Final Effects and Studio Effects plug-ins for Adobe
After Effects. The software packages have become industry standards and are
two of the film industry´s most popular tools for putting the finishing touches
on film and video productions. A new special effects package, Cult Effects,
was launched by Cycore in March 1999. Cycore's special-effects software is
used by customers in large broadcasting companies, motion-picture studios
and post-production facilities worldwide.
